Jake Schmidt

Prior to joining Chelsea Avondale, Jake held roles at several prestigious law firms including Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York City and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Toronto. In both roles, he was a member of teams advising on complex legal issues and cuttingedge strategic pursuits. He has participated in large cross-border public offerings, multi-billion dollar balance sheet reorganizations, and a number of significant M&A and financing transactions.

At Chelsea Avondale, Jake works alongside the operations team where he supports the group’s strategic transformation initiatives, commercial pursuits, and all aspects of the group’s legal and governance functions. His experience in advising on a wide range of complex transactional and practical legal issues makes him uniquely positioned for the role of Legal Counsel at Chelsea Avondale as the group enters its growth stage.

Jake holds a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, and is licensed to practice law in both the State of New York and the Province of Ontario.
